Turkish Parliament Speaker Binali Yıldırım on Sept. 23 praised relations with Uzbekistan ahead of his official visit to the country's capital Tashkent.

Speaking at a news conference at Esenboğa Airport in the capital Ankara, Yıldırım stressed that relations between Turkey and Uzbekistan were developing “rapidly”.

“In fact, Turkey-Uzbekistan relations have developed into a high-level strategic cooperation,” he added.

As part of his first official visit to Uzbekistan, Yıldırım is to meet Uzbek President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, Prime Minister Abdulla Aripov and other officials.

Yıldırım will also attend a ceremony marking the delivery of mobile ambulance and service vehicles by the Turkish Cooperation and Coordination Agency (TİKA).
