10 Quebec doctors denounce the fact that the health care system is forcing people to accept “medical aid in dying” rather “than medical aid in living.”

On the eve of the Quebec court appeal hearing regarding the judgement that did not allow Dr Saba to argue that the consent of the patients asking for medical aid in dying is « not free and informed because of lack of access to health care », 10 Quebec doctors denounce that the health care system is forcing people to accept death rather than care and life. People are being offered “medical aid in dying” rather “than medical aid in living.”
According to the doctors present at the press conference, patients end up wanting to die because they do not have access to proper medical care. Each physician demonstrates how the lack of access to proper care deprive patients of free and informed consent. Their stories also expose inadequate safeguards in the laws.
Also present is The President of the Medical Errors Victims Fund who lives with cerebral palsy since birth and will explain how these laws are abusive and killing people against their will.
