People have slammed a popular festival for its 'criminal' food prices - after one woman's lunch cost her more than £50.

It's no secret that festival food comes with a bit of a surcharge. After all, if you're camping in the middle of nowhere, and can't bring food in, you have little choice but to cough up. How does £10 for a coffee sound? Ahh, go on then.

However, one festival goer has gone viral after breaking down the cost of a simple meal that would cost around £15 if bought outside the gates - and people have got plenty to say about it...

Jackie Tanti, from Rhode Island, US, took to TikTok to document her time at Coachella. The annual music festival, located in the Colorado Desert, attracts hundreds of thousands of guests from all over the world each year. Known for its high price point, tickets for the event range from $499 to an eye-watering $719 (£400 - £577), and that's excluding booking fees.

This year's lineup included a slew of A-listers including Lana Del Rey, Billie Eilish, Bebe Rexha, Bleachers, and Doja Cat. The festival has come under fire in recent years, namely due to its parent company's link to right-wing donations. This year, the scrutiny lies on its food prices.

"It's weekend one of Coachella and I've just spent $64 (around £51.40) on this really good juice and two breakfast burritos," Jackie said. "Capitalism is crazy and I am part of the problem."
